The Solid Rock
Build on ground which can't be shaken.

A life of praise unto the Lord,
Worship changes all within,
Causing "newness" to begin.

The Gift Of Words
Some conversations are meaningless chatter,
Lacking in purposeful subject matter.
If we're not careful there is high cost,
For focus on beauty and worth can be lost.
The words which we speak, when chosen with care,
Will brighten our message whenever we share.
Words filled with loveliness are a delight.
For others our words are a gift which is bright.

In the quiet, in the stillness,
As I wait upon the Lord,
I feel all tensions slip away.
In times with Him I am restored.

A Place Set Apart
“Trillium” was a place set apart,
A place of refreshing for spirit and heart,
A hidden oasis, a breath of fresh air
Where spirit and soul could find sweet repair.
With wellsprings of water, flowing year round,
The refreshing of God was truly profound.
Cooling was there in the soft summer breeze,
Heard in the winds brushing tops of tall trees...
Restoring the soul, healing the heart,
The refreshing of God to sweetly impart,
Escape from the rush of everyday life...
A place of sweet quietness, free from all strife.
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

(Note:) "Trillium" was a property out in the country which my parents owned. My father built a cabin there, and our family spent many restful weekends there. We named it "Trillium" because every year the property was covered with wild Trillium flowers.

God is marching down through time.

Without the Lord our perspective is small.
We will not be able to understand all.
He broadens our insight, increasing our vision

Change how we think, and know who to be.

Seek the Lord for inner peace.
Be still until you find release.

Switching gears from "fast" to "slow"
Will give your day an easy flow.
When you give Him a listening ear,
Perspective then will be more clear.
Deep within He'll give you rest

God is able to repair
What we think cannot be fixed
When in faith we turn to Him

Worthy Seed
In God's wisdom we must grow
If in our lives good seed we'll sow.
If His teachings we will heed,
He'll cause us to sow worthy seed.
When these seeds take root and sprout
There will not be any doubt
That we have learned and studied well

Knowing Truth
When we know the truth, we'll have a strong "border".
When we honor truth, our lives will have order.
But watered-down truth will bring disarray
And open our lives to fear and dismay.
We must be alert, the truth to discern,
And all of God's tenets to study and learn.
Let truth be our guide to chart a clear course,
To keep us from error and save us remorse.
Truth is our friend and will be our shield,
A very strong tool for our hand to wield.
Importance of truth we cannot downplay.
In it is strength we need for this day.
"If you abide in My word (hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them), you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will see you free."

Grace For Our Nation
The heart of the nation is aching and sore,
And many folks tremble at what is in store.
But healing will come if we’ll seek the Lord’s face.
We’re truly in need of His mercy and grace.
Let us bow down in reverence and prayer.
Let us cry out and all our sins bare.
Our destiny lies in the palm of God’s hand.
It is He Who will strengthen and help us to stand.
We need His direction to cure what is ill
And need much correction the turmoil to still.
Man cannot solve this by instinct or pride
But sorely needs God to turn this ill tide.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Precious Gold
Moms are made of precious gold.
Their gifts of love are manyfold.
From time of birth until we crawl
They smile and hold us when we “call”.
As we grow they hover near
And always have a ready ear.
Should we have a need or fear,
They are there, our thoughts to hear.
From dawn to dusk a mother prays
For wisdom in just how to raise
Her children whom she loves so much.
Through prayer she has the Lord’s own touch.
And so her children are much blessed
She gives to them her very best.
Through her love they find God’s light.
Because she shines so very bright,
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

A Joyful Life
If God has been drawing you near to His side
In closer relationship there to abide,
There will be benefit more than you know.
Deep wisdom and insight will cause you to grow.
Now is the time to answer His call
And follow His lead in things great and small.
When you wait on Him your days will be bright.
His peace and His joy will bring much delight.
Take joy in His presence and worship His name.
All of His goodness and glory proclaim!
Our God is good and worthy of praise.
Rejoice and be glad through all of your days!
"Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being."

When God Calls
When God wants to speak to you
He will not call on your cell phone.
Those who know Him listen well,
For He speaks oft unto His own.
When they listen and give ear
They have made a joyous choice.
There is no greater fellowship
Than to know and hear God’s voice.
“And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know His voice.”

Careful Steps
A prudent man weighs every step,
Takes time to pray, gives careful thought.
He does choose to rush ahead
Till peace and wisdom he has sought.
He considers well his way
Before he starts to move ahead.
He wants to know the Lord will bless

Refreshing For The Heart
When God's Word lies deep within
We're freed from stress and error and sin,
For in the Word we find much gold,
The kind which isn't bought or sold.
The Word becomes a place of rest
Where we can turn in every test.
We need not fear or be in toil.
The Word is as a healing oil.
From worldly thoughts we find release.
The Word of God becomes our peace.
From all our cares we're set apart
In God's "oasis" for the heart.
"The entrance of thy words giveth light..."

A Train Of Thought
A train of thought can travel far,
But some "trains" we don't want to catch.
These "trains" we should filter out
Lest erred ideas they dispatch.
When God sponsors a new thought
This "train" will be safe to ride.
Thoughts from Him will travel well
And leave you feeling edified.
"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established."
Proverbs 16:3 KJV

Hidden In Him
In these times we see things shake,
And many situations quake.
If you long for solid ground,
In the Lord it can be found.
He's our fortress, He's our tower,
Our place of refuge in this hour.
Lean on Him. Do not have fear.
Trust in Him. To Him draw near.
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty (Whose power no foe can withstand)."

A Grateful Heart
Let there be moments in every day
When you give pause and words of thanks say.
This will bring balance and keep you on track.
Of proper perspective you will have no lack.
When we acknowledge the Lord as our Source,
He will draw near to keep us on course.
All of our days will be much more bright
As we give Him thanks and in Him delight.
"Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name."
