If you are a senior and think your “work” is done,
The greatest work which you will do may not have even begun.
God can add excitement and a season of great joy
In retirement and beyond when we rest in His employ.
It sometimes takes a lifetime to prepare for a great work,
So opportunity He gives to us we should never shirk.
The insights we have gathered will contribute to the “new”,
And with a new direction mighty works we still will do.
God will use His vessels if they’re open to His voice
And give them “special projects” which will cause them to rejoice.
We’ll have the “fire” and energy to welcome each new dawn.
His joy will fill us with new strength and fervor to go on!
“For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year
of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
