The "principle of the thing"
Is an oft-repeated phrase
Which seeks to re-affirm the truth
And Godly standards raise.
Integrity and goodness are
The models of it's cause.
Conscience and a moral sense
Will pinpoint any flaws.
It displays a "steady strength",
Unwavering and pure,
The solid rock of righteousness,
A guideline which is sure.
"Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee."
