Wisdom says “always be looking ahead”,
For then you will know where your feet should tread.
Long-range perception will be as a light,
And far-sighted vision will save oversight.
We may be comfortable right where we are,
But times which are changing our comfort could jar.
We can’t shut our eyes and say, “I’m okay”,
Then be caught off-guard because we’re blasé.
Our God is faithful to lead and to guide
And give clear direction in which to abide.
Staying alert and listening prayerfully
Keeps us in touch so we will move carefully.
“Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), making the very most of the time (buying up each opportunity), because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.”
