Nail-Scarred Hands

Jesus walked a lonely road
To die for mankind's "wrong".
The sin for which He suffered
To Him did not belong.

The cross He bore was heavy,
Yet He bore it all alone.
He redeemed us for all time
From sin which was our own.

As we focus on the cross,
Our knee we humbly bow
And pray that we'll not drive a nail
Or place a thorn upon His brow.

His nail-scarred hands reach out to us,
Salvation to impart.
His death is now our gain
As we receive Him in our heart.

"How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God."
Psalm 84:1-2 KJV
