Patience is not quickly learned
Nor easily its merits earned.
Our attention it will need
If in us it will succeed.
Though we fuss, make haste or worry,
This is one thing we can't hurry.
Sometimes timing is at stake,
And patience says, "Put on the brake".
When we're being made to wait
A thoughtfulness it will create,
And as we learn its lesson well
A peacefulness in us will dwell.
"Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play
and do a thorough work, so that you may be (people) perfectly and fully developed (with no defects), lacking in nothing."
