Finely-Tilled Soil

When setting out to grow a crop
Or plant in soil never turned,
Plowing up the soil is rough.
By hard work are great crops earned.

If the soil is not prepared,
Seeds we plant just may not grow.
Plowing comes before success...
Is something we cannot forego.

From the farmer we learn much
As we watch him till his field.
By his patience and his labor
All his crops will bring good yield.

Equal to the farmer's plow
In daily life will be our prayer.
Prayer loosens up hard ground
And pulls out "weeds" which are a snare.

Prayer is prerequisite
To know just how we should proceed.
If we want our "crops" to grow,
Then prayer "plowing" is a need.

"He that ploweth should plow in hope; and he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope."
I Corinthians 9:10 KJV
