Choosing Good Friends

It's good to have discernment
About the friends we keep.
If they don't have wisdom,
Some problems we might reap.

For wisdom spurs us on and upward,
Carefully to walk,
Causing us to "measure" words
And foolishness to balk.

Wisdom brings consistency
And poise and common sense.
It recognizes foolishness
And sees right through pretense.

It turns the other way from wrong
And seeks a higher calling.
If our friends have wisdom,
We have much less chance of falling.

"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."
Proverbs 13:20 KJV
