The valley may be far across
And you may suffer pain and loss,
But when you reach the other side,
With peace and joy you will abide.
Clear perspective comes through trial,
And "tempering" with self-denial.
These are gifts which will emerge
If you don't quit with every urge.
When you seek to do God's will
Your cup He surely will refill.
There will always be reward
For those who love and serve the Lord.
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
