Unforgiveness builds a wall
And hinders good relationship.
Wounds and scars just will not heal
When folks are on an “ego-trip”.
Forgiveness needs a humble heart
Which says, “I will not take offense,
Even though I do not see
A single shred of recompense.”
Forgiveness is a healing salve
Which soothes the impact of offense,
Releasing new-found love inside
And bringing blessed consequence.
Joy springs forth from deep inside
As a fountain of great worth,
Refreshing “sore and tender spots”
And to healing giving birth.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
