Lord, let my ears be swift to hear
And to Your voice give careful ear.
Let my speech show prudent thought
And honor You just as it ought.
Let my mind not run ahead
Or bypass anything You've said.
Let my lips be slow to speak,
And let my words be mild and meek.
Sometimes silent I should be
And wait until You speak to me.
Help me, Lord, to always pause
And only speak when You give cause.
